Our experts' advice for facing this new adventure together
Summer arrives, and with it, the desire for the sea, but when there's a newborn, there are precautions that cannot be overlooked. Here are our experts' top 3 tips:
- Babies at the beach? Yes, you can!
Let's start by clarifying that newborns can be taken to the beach, with the necessary precautions. Obviously, the countryside would be the ideal destination, but the beach is not forbidden. It is recommended to wait at least 10/15 days after birth, during which time the baby might need a pediatrician.
- The umbrella, an indispensable ally
It's best to keep the baby under the umbrella at all times, avoiding the hottest hours of the day. The perfect times are early morning and/or late afternoon. Direct sun exposure is not recommended, as young children's skin is thinner and their pigmentation system is still developing.
- Sunscreen, yes or no?
It is not recommended to apply sunscreen before 6 months of age, so it is essential not to forget hats and light clothing, which will be your little one's shield.
